July 31st

Almost in Crawl Form...

We've been working on crawling in the Wilson house and when he isn't scooting... Aiden is rolling around.  He is close to a crawl, hoping that happens soon!

We take Aiden everywhere.  I think a part of me wants to ensure that as he grows older, he has no fear of trying new things or going to different places and does not look down on things that are different from what he is familiar with.  Some parents kind of keep their kids in or leave them with sitters from the get go and I am not criticizing that at all, but for Adam and I, I really believe that we want Aiden to experience everything.

Since he was pretty tiny we've walked daily around the neighborhood, we've gone fishing, to art museums, to national parks and walking trails, the ocean, and wherever we go...most of the time, he goes with us and experiences it.

Aiden and I at the Ocmulgee National Monument // July 2013

Today we visited the Ocmulgee National Monument, a place I've been a million times, a really neat area, and something I want to share with Aiden.  We went to take a tour about a Civil War battle that took place in the area, unfortunately the little guy (who has had a cold) got too hot and we left before he got uncomfortable.

But... even though we could not stay long, the experience...even as a little man... I think is important (I could be crazy, but hey)

Loving the beach!
We really like taking him places and maybe it is because some of the most important memories I have as a kid come from traveling.  When I was eight, much to the protest of my parents at the time, my grandmother took me for a few weeks to Washington, D.C. and it was one of the most awesome things I've ever done.

Nature Walks Rule

So I want him to experience it too...different places, scenes, smells, tastes... to be just out there and not be afraid to go and explore.

That is a stuffed bear!

He's only been to two states by seven months old, but we try really hard to make his little trips full of new experiences.  I mean he's already seen Fine art!

Aiden and Mom fishing!

Hopefully we will be able to keep traveling, because I just find it so much more enjoyable.

Sick Babies

Aiden Wilson  July 2013

Ok granted, Aiden does not look sick at all, but the last few days he's had a cold that I graciously (and accidentally) bestowed upon him.  He does not act like he feels horrible, but he is stuffy and has a nasty little cough and I loathe it.  His pediatrician probably thinks I am a nut, because I call every time he gets a sniffle, but it drives me bonkers.

I get sick a ton and I am the type that waits until I am bleeding in the head to go to the doctor, but oh man....when he feels ill... it is instant, my crazy overprotective mom mode blooms.  I think he does feel better, He was fast asleep in his bed a little while ago... of course with his butt in the air...

I also wonder when I am going to not freak out about him sleeping on his belly...  because I admit... I do turn him over if he is on his belly...even though he will immediately get back on his belly.

I promise I am not a loon.

It Is Coming!

This awesome kid will be seven months old in two days!!!  I cannot believe it.  I really thought I would be sensible about his First birthday.  I thought, well he wont really remember it and later birthdays will actually be bigger deals.... but... I'm already planning...because I am nutty...

Yes, this is a little kid dressed as Harry Potter... so you know my theme.  We read Harry Potter books together.... and so I thought it would be special.

I have so many ideas... and while he wont remember it, maybe it is not insane to plan a little lavish bday party for Aiden...who knows, but it is fun to plan at least.

Oh buddy

I know I am partial and when I say he is the cutest baby on earth that there are many a mother who writes the same drivel and believes it.
I know that when he is pitching a fit (he does not do this often, but when he does it is sound barrier breaking), I sometimes get so frustrated I want to go dunk my head in cold water for a few minutes to cool off...
And... I know that lately I have been a ball of stress, which is not abnormal for me, just a bit overly stressful lately for other reasons beyond this little boy.

But... He is amazing.
and hilarious... and when he says things that I cannot actually understand, but I pretend like we have an adult conversation, I crack up.

Today we almost finished Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban... now granted he probably will not remember a moment of this, but I enjoy having storytime together and thinking, he seems really into it! lol...
Watch him hate Harry Potter...

He does follow his mom and dad in one obsession, computers.  He loves keyboards SO much that when we visited his grandparents in Florida we had to let him play with one and when we got home, to stop him from slamming his hands down on mommy's keyboard when she types... we bought him his own baby laptop... it was like 18 bucks, but so worth it.

He does not exactly type on it like a pro as of yet...but he does enjoy beating the keys, drooling on it, and biting the screen.

These are of course signs of vast computer intelligence... I tell you.

Also, he looks at his dad and says gaaagaaagaa, which I think is his version of daddy.

July 14th 2013

After being fussy all day, Aiden got a bath and cheered up significantly

The bath worked, because he's finally napping
